Bogfoot in Ancient Art
Pangea Institute's Scott Marlowe rejoined the show to talk about Bigfoot. Scott recently has been writing on the subject of Bigfoot depicted in art in the Prehistoric to Medieval Period.
Scott started the show off to talk about recent images floating around on the internet and aired on CNN of what appeared to be a bear. Scott expressed that he too was leaning towards it being a bear with mange.
Scott discussed many specific art pieces he felt depicted a Bipedal Hairy Primate. He started with the Lithic Period and ended with the Early Medieval Period. Cave drawing from Thompson Wash; Kimberly, Australia; Edmonson County, Kentucky; and Porterville, California was discussed. Scott explained that in the Sumerian story of Gilgamesh, Enkidu, fit the description of a Bigfoot like creature. The Egyptian god Bes was described as being a possible diminutive bigfoot. Some other talked about where and Islamic piece, the "Green Man" and many others.
Scott also answered questions from email and the chat room. Some of the questions asked where; are there any Bigfoot like creatures described in Native American folklore, what he favorite Bigfoot theory was, what he thought Bigfoot feed on, what are some of the common depictions found between the ancient art and sightings today, what was his favorite piece of Bigfoot art and a few others.
